Historical Channel

One Hominid's bones can tell us, almost all the daily life hominids had. For scientists, artifacts it is more than a trash, maybe a piece of gold. I heard that there were group of scientist who were searching for cave paintings in Argentina called Cueva de las Manos. While searching, some scientists were singing. While singing, they discovered that the loudness of the song was more powerful in the location where they found the ancient cave paintings. Social Scientist predicts that there were gatherings and celebrations in the cave.

One of the artifacts, spear thrower tells us a lot of facts about the early humans. Most Hominids hunted and had tools for hunting. Hominids usually ate meats than fruits. Look how I typed three facts about a prehistorical material. One artifact demonstrates zillions and zillions of facts. Even though you’re not a social scientist you can easily guess the culture of the early hominids.

Artifact never ends. It tells us the lifestyle of ancient people and it also precedes the lifestyle we have now. We can compare ancient lives and our lives. We can visualize the past and analyze the findings. Maybe few thousand years later, people in the future might discover a computer from these days and say “Wow, this is amazing.” just like we do, today. All I think is artifacts are a great idea to visualize the past.

Cave Paintings

These cave paintings are estimated to be 17,000 years old. It is located in Lascaux, France. The most famous section of this cave is where bulls, horses and dears are depicted. One of the bulls are found 5.2 meters which is 17 feet.

Cueva de las Manos
Cueva de las Manos is a cave placed around Southern Argentina. Cueva de las Manos mean 'Cave of the Hands'. There are mostly left hand-prints but there are many depictions of animals, as well.

 Cueva de las Manos

In this picture there are pictures of animals, hand-prints, zig zags and circles. Regarding the animals and hand-prints, I will talk about the circles and the zigzags. The circle represents the sun and the zigzag represents the mountain. But why is it pictured sun and mountain? It is probably the hominids' religious theme. This picture is a good example of a spefic cave painting.
